Trinity News : June 2019

Dear Parents and Carers

Aberdour

P1 – P6 had a fabulous visit to Aberdour beach last Wednesday.  A huge thanks to the many parents and carers who came along to what is now an annual school community event. It was lovely to see all the children paddling in the water, building sandcastles, eating ice cream and generally having great fun.  (Unfortunately, we had a couple of cases of sunburn so we will be considering how we can avoid this in future years.)

Building update

Thank you for your understanding as we prepare for summer building works.  Weather permitting, children will be able to eat packed lunches outside this week.   Whilst work will continue after the holidays we are hopeful that the toilets will all be refurbished before the children return.

Oor Wullie bucket trail

From  now until the end of Aug there are over 60 large Oor Wullies to be found around Edinburgh, as well as lots of wee Oor Wullies.

Our Oor Wullie called  ‘Aw the bairns blethering’ can be seen at Ocean Terminal.

For more information about the trail download the Oor Wullie’s Bucket trail app or look online at www.oorwullie.com.

Chickens

Sadly, one of our chickens has died.  We are still unsure about the cause of her death and are looking at ways to avoid anything happening to our remaining three ‘pets’.

P5 held a very successful Bake Sale on Friday and are looking to purchase an extension to the chicken run.  Well done P5 and many thanks to those who supported the sale.

End of year celebration and P7 yearbook presentation

All parents, carers and friends are very welcome to join us in the front playground on Tues 25th June for our end of year celebration and the presentation of yearbooks to P7.  We aim to start the celebrations by 9.30am.  Those parents and carers of children in P7 are warmly invited to the pavilion for refreshments after the service.

Goodbye and Good Luck

We have several children and staff leaving Trinity this week.  I am sure you will join with me in wishing them all, the very best for the future and hope that they leave our school with many happy memories.

For those returning in August, have a great summer and we look forward to seeing P2 – P7 back on Wed Aug 14th and to welcoming our new P1s on Thurs Aug 15th.

Please note – class photos will be taken on Thurs 15th Aug so make sure you’re ‘looking good’.

Thank you all for your support this year and for helping to make Trinity the fabulous school that it is.
