Practise being still for a while
How often are you still? Really still? Not just sitting down because we can still be busy looking at phones, watching tv or thinking about things we have to do.
Stillness gives us time and space to reflect and to listen to our thoughts and the senses and feelings we explored yesterday. It helps us to process our experiences and to form memories. It teaches us to pay attention – to the world around us and to our inner voice and emotions. These things can all help us with our learning and with being productive when we aren’t still.
Stillness also helps us to tune into our bodies – to notice when something feels sore or tense and paying attention to that can help to soothe it. Stillness keeps us present, lets your spirit recharge so that your creativity can flow and helps you to appreciate what is good in your life just now.
