Hello everyone and welcome to week 11 of Learning from Home. As we enter the last 2 weeks of the school year we are very aware that everyone is becoming tired (children and parents/carers!) and also that we are missing out on lots of the fun end of term activities that take place each year. With that in mind, the weekly grid is a bit smaller this week and also contains more end of term activities rather than lots of worksheets. There is also an ‘End of Term activities’ grid that has some fun ideas you might want to try as a family over the last 2 weeks of term. Please just do what you can, there is no expectation to complete everything.
Please find below all the details you will need for learning from home this week. Please remember to get in touch with your child’s teacher at least once a week to share what they have been learning. Also, if you have any questions or problems please just send us an email.
Week 11 Learning Grid
Please find the week 11 learning grid attached. Some of the boxes on the grid (coloured red) link to an attachment below. Please feel free to either print these and stick into the jotter or to copy the work onto a piece of paper or jotter.
This week we will be choosing a piece of WOW work from across any of the activities provided. At the end of the week each teacher will choose an excellent piece of work from their class and this will be uploaded to the website next Monday.
As a fun end of term task we have come up with some activities linked to a virtual trip to Edinburgh Zoo! Use the powerpoint below to go through the trip and choose some (or all) tasks to complete. You can use the information on the zoo website to help you. https://www.edinburghzoo.org.uk/
As part of the powerpoint there is an option to make a mask. Below are some templates you may wish to use.
This week our mini topic is all about animals. Below are the items referred to on the weekly grid.
This week we are continuing to work on directions.
End of Term Activities
Thank you to everyone who has continued to share weekly work with us and we look forward to seeing what you have been working on this week. We hope that you enjoy some of the end of term activities and your last two weeks in Primary 1! We are all missing you lots and lots and wish we could be together again and doing these things in person.
