Dear Parents and Carers
I hope that this finds you all well. I am aware of some concern amongst our school community with two confirmed cases of COVID – 19 in school this week. As I am sure you will understand for reasons of confidentiality I am unable to disclose who has tested positive but please be assured that all necessary risk assessments have been carried out. These have resulted in one P3 class being asked to isolate. It would not appear that the two cases are connected although it is impossible to say this with absolute certainty. We continue to ensure frequent hand washing, adults adhere to 2m distancing and face coverings are worn in communal school areas and when working closely with children. As stated in the newsletter last week I do appreciate that children being in school and mixing with others the closer we get to Christmas may increase anxiety for some families. A number of parents have been in touch requesting to keep their own child at home from an earlier date in order to either avoid their child/family being a contact of a positive case and thus having to isolate over Christmas or in preparation to spend the holiday period with elderly or more vulnerable relatives. These really are unprecedented circumstances and I both understand & support any decision that families may make. Please do get in touch if you wish to discuss this.
