P2-7 Trinity News : 17th august 2021

Dear Parent and Carers

A very warm welcome to another school year.   Thank you so much for the kind words, cards and gifts shared at the end of term – they were very much appreciated by the staff.

I hope you have all had a good summer and were able to make the most of the great weather we had.  Everyone at Trinity is so looking forward to seeing our learners back in school tomorrow (Wed 18th Aug), ready and enthusiastic for what we hope will be a fun filled and together year ahead.  The news that we could ‘burst the bubbles’ was met with much delight.   Whilst this is so encouraging, and takes us ever closer to returning to what we see as normal, I am sure that you will understand that we have been asked by City of Edinburgh council to remain cautious in order to keep everyone safe and to keep schools fully open.  To this end please see below for current arrangements.

Times of the day :

These will remain as they were prior to the holidays with the plan to review after the September weekend.

Lunches :

Lunches will continue to be eaten in classrooms.  Over the next few weeks our aim is to gradually introduce children back into the dining hall in line with numbers allowed.   Children in P1 – P4 are now eligible for a free school lunch.  If parents / carers wish to take this up please ensure that you have ordered lunch on parentpay.

School Uniform and PE kit :

As a school community we have always encouraged and supported the wearing of school uniform.  Circumstances last year saw a bit of a move away from this but we are hoping that we can start to return to all our learners wearing school colours (black, grey, yellow, white).  This helps them all to identify with being a Trinity Leaner.

Over the next few days your child will find out when they will have PE in school.  On those days they are welcome to come to school dressed for PE.

I am hopeful that this year will see us being able to welcome parents and carers physically back into our school.  In the meantime please be assured that the Trinity team will continue to do all it can to get it right for our children.

Best wishes

Jacqueline Scott
