Dear Parents and Carers
Apologies for the delay in sending out our Christmas activities calendar. Please find dates below along with information about what is planned. A paper copy of the calendar will be issued to every child to help everyone keep up to speed with what’s on and what’s needed. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact school.
In line with COVID guidance the children will be spending considerable amounts of time outside, or in school with windows and doors open, so please do make sure they are warmly dressed!
Tis the season to be jolly!
The following currently sits within COVID guidance. However please do remember that we may have to alter if necessary.
Mon 29th Nov : Watch ‘The Snowman’ in preparation for house art
Tues 30th Nov : Christmas jumpers etc are welcome to be worn from now on.
House art day – all the children will be involved in doing art to represent ‘The Snawman’ a Scots version of ‘The Snowman’ by Raymond Briggs
Wed Dec 1st : the following begin from the 1st
Trees will go up in foyer and outside front door.
Reverse advent calendar : children are welcome to bring in money donations instead of sending cards to each other. House Captains will select a charity.
Santa fitness challenge : classes will be given a fitness challenge to complete. Once completed they will add a piece of Santa to our large jigsaw
You’ve been Snowball Splattered! : each class is tasked with secretly ‘snowball splattering’ another class.

Week of 6th Dec : Silent Disco : whole school
Each stage has been allocated a slot as below
Mon : P2 and P5 Tues P1, P3 and P4 Thurs : P6 and P7
Mon 6th and Tues 7th Dec : Story in secret garden for P1 and P2
We are hoping Mrs Claus and elves will be in the garden to read a Christmas story to P1 and P2. Toasted marshmallows will be on offer!
Wed Dec 8th : Pantomime and Christmas Lunch : whole school
The plan is to make the day a ‘trip to the theatre and out for lunch’ so dressing up is welcomed! A fair bit of poetic licence is required I know! Elves will deliver an ice lolly to each child at the end of their pantomime ‘trip’.
If you have not ordered a school Christmas lunch please remember to send in a packed lunch with your child.
Thurs 9th Dec : Party and Activity day for P6 and P7 (dress for a party but please remember there will be time outside playing!)
Fri 10th Dec : Outdoor Christmas Service : whole school
Our plan is to hold our Christmas service in the playground. Warm clothes will be needed! In line with current guidance we are delighted that we will be able to invite P7 parents and carers to attend if they wish to do so. I really do appreciate that many others would also love to come along but we have to limit numbers and have made the decision to invite P7 families as this is their last year at Trinity. P7 parents and carers please look out for further info.

P3 pupils will also be presenting their outdoor show ‘Mermaids V Pirates’ to parents and carers of P3J

Thurs 16th : Come dressed in PJs for ‘PJs and Film’ day : whole school
Playground chalk art – classes will have the chance to take part in street art as they decorate our playground with Christmas art

With COVID restrictions still in place finish times will be as follows
11.30am : P5, P6 and P7 11.45am P3 and P4 12.00 P1 and P2
We are ever hopeful that all of the above will be able to happen. Our main aim is to keep everyone safe and school open.
Please support us with the following :
- Ensure your child is on time and at the correct gate
- Do not enter the playground unless collecting from P1 or P2. Wear face coverings unless exempt
- If your child has symptoms of COVID, keep them at home and book a test immediately
- Make sure your child is dressed warmly – windows and doors are open and children are often outside
Thank you so much for your ongoing understanding and patience. The last 20 months has certainly come with challenges for us all but we continue to be in this together and we will get through it together. Seeing our learners in school laughing, learning and having fun shows how well we have all done and continue to do.
Here’s to a Festive few weeks ahead!
Best wishes
Jacqueline Scott
