Dear Parents and Carers
Apologies for the short notice regarding school lunches. We only had the start date confirmed yesterday and have had to quickly put plans into action. I hope that the following will explain things in more detail :
The kitchen will be closed completely to allow for a full refurbishment.
This is required to bring the kitchen up to a higher standard and to assist with the increase in pupil numbers accessing school meals.
Some kitchen staff will be redeployed to other schools whilst the work is carried out.
A makeshift preparation and serving area will be set up in the dining hall.
Kitchen staff will be able to access the cooker in our school cook school to eg boil eggs.
Pupils who have ordered a school lunch will be provided with a packed lunch.
This will be made up of a sandwich, fruit, yogurt or jelly and a biscuit or savoury snack.
The packed lunch will adhere to the dietary guidance laid down by catering services.
I do understand that a move away from a hot lunch is not desirable, and can only ask for your support as we manage the disruption. I am sure that the improvements made will be well worth it in the long run.
I hope that all Trinity families have an enjoyable holiday from school and look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday April 25th.
Please remember that from that date the school playground will be open from 8.30am. There will no longer be the necessity to wait on Newhaven Road or in Victoria Park.
Start times remain the same : 8.30am P5 – P7, 8.45am P3 and P4, 9.00am P1 and P2
Best wishes
Jacqueline Scott
