Dear Parents and Carers
I hope that you are all well and were able to enjoy the long weekend. The term ahead promises to be very busy and we will try to ensure that everyone knows what’s going on! Please do ask your children and keep checking email, texts, school website and Twitter accounts.
Fri May 6th : we are so looking forward to opening our doors properly to parents and carers on Friday morning. Please do come along from 9.00am – 10.00am or from 11.00am – 12.00 noon, walk around and see our school in action. Tea and coffee will be available in the foyer. A small donation towards the cost of this is much appreciated.
Sun May 8th : Playground tidy from 9.30am – 12.30pm. Please use the form below to let us know if you are able or not to come along on Sunday. We want to make sure we’ve got enough pastries!
P1 – P3 Parents / Carers meetings : thank you to those who replied regarding the preferred format for these meetings. The majority of parents and carers asked for a face to face meeting. These will take place on Thursday 26th May 4.00pm – 6.30pm and on Friday 27th May 1.00pm – 3.30pm. Please look out for an email regarding booking a time to meet, in school, with your child’s teacher. Appointments will be for ten minutes. If you are unable to attend please do get in touch and a phone call will be arranged.
Tuck shop : tuck shop will now take place fortnightly, in the front playground, starting on Thursday May 5th. P2, our Rainbow School leaders, have now taken responsibility for this.
Bikes / Scooters in school : please be aware that there are bike racks in the front playground, the middle playground and in the back playground. We are finding that the back playground racks are overflowing whilst the others are quite empty.
Food waste : it has been great to see a reduction in the amount of food waste in school. However there is a concern over Friday packed lunches as there are often several lunches not collected. These end up in the bin. This week there are 181 lunches ordered – the usual number is about 90 of which not all are eaten. Please do check on parentpay and cancel if you do not wish a lunch for your child on a Friday. I’m sure you will agree with me that we don’t want to have food thrown out.
Thank you again for all your support and I hope to see you on Friday (please be patient with us as we try to put names to faces, especially with no requirement for face coverings)
Best wishes
Jacqueline Scott
