Dear Parents and Carers

As we start week three of the summer term I would just like to say a few words about what was, for me, a fabulous end to week two.  Our school felt truly like our school on Friday as we welcomed so many parents and  careers to our open morning.  There was such a lovely buzz around the whole building, with our learners so proud to share what they are learning.   I don’t think the chickens have ever had so many visitors!    Thank you so much for coming along and for the many words of support and encouragement.

Yesterday also saw another great morning with families working together with staff to tidy up and improve our playground and secret garden.   Once again a huge thanks to those of you who came along.  We were even joined by one of our new P1 pupils.

The next few weeks are busy so please do keep checking with your children and with Twitter and email.

Sports Day : Fri May 20th – start time approx. 9.20am in Victoria Park.   ALL very welcome

The children will take part in six events in house teams.  Siblings will be in the same team so if you are able to come along you only need to follow one team around the course

Our theme is Coast to Coast with each event representing part of a journey to travel from the UK coast, around the world and back

Children should come to school dressed for sports day.  Please note that rain will not put us off so dress for the weather!

Fruit will be provided for snack time but children must bring their own named water bottle

At the end of the six events children will gather in their own classes to watch the P7 house relays

It is likely that sports day will finish about 11.15am / 11.30am.  At that time they may be dismissed providing they are with an adult – please make sure your child’s class teacher knows they are with you – or they will return to school until the normal end of school day.

Pupils from P5 – P7 must have returned a signed paper slip indicating they have permission to leave early  –  this will be sent home this week.

Best wishes

Jacqueline Scott
