Trinity News: June 6th

Dear Parents and Carers

I hope that however you spent the Jubilee holiday you had a good time.  I was privileged to be invited to the Jubilee Thanksgiving service in St Paul’s Cathedral and can honestly say it was an incredibly memorable event.   Being spotted on TV added to the occasion!

As we head into the final four weeks of the school year we are in the process of finalising staffing for August.  We will be saying thank you and goodbye to two of our PSAs – Michael Taylor and Lindsey Espie – both of whom are embarking on a post graduate teacher training course.   I am sure that their time supporting pupils at Trinity will hold them in good stead and wish them every success in the future.  We currently have an advert live on myjobscotland (reference number 20285) for PSA posts.  The closing date is Thursday June 9th.

Aberdour Picnic

We are all really looking forward to our school picnic to Aberdour on Wed June 22nd.  We are however a bit concerned about the number of pupils who have still to pay.  As I am sure you will understand coaches have been booked and require to be paid for.  The cost for the visit is £7 which can be paid through Parentpay or by sending in cash in a named envelope.  We ask for a contribution, payment of £7 or payment of a bit extra depending on circumstances.   Payment must be made by Mon June 13th to allow plans to be put in place.   Unfortunately any child for whom no payment has been made will not be able to attend as payment also acts as permission.

It is also extremely helpful if the form below can be completed indicating if parents / carers are able to help or not.

August 2022

Please note school hours from August will change for P3 – P7.  These have been altered following consultation with parents, carers and staff.

Mon – Thurs : 8.45am – 3.10pm

Fri : 8.45am – 12.00noon

The school day for P1 and P2 will remain as

Mon – Thurs : 9.00am – 3.00pm

Fri : 9.00am – 12.00noon

Uniform – the last couple of years have seen quite a move away from the wearing of school uniform and we are keen to see it return from August.   It really does help to encourage a feeling of belonging to our school and supports equity.    Whilst more traditional uniform items are not always practical we do ask that all children wear school colours (black, yellow or grey).  The wearing of hoodies is discouraged and we look for support from parents and carers with this.  Our current P6 learners have chosen the colour for their P7 sweatshirt and orders will be taken soon – P7s are expected to wear a P7 sweatshirt.   All uniform items are available on the Superlogo website.    Financial assistance for schoolwear is available so please do contact school if this would be helpful.
