Dear Parents and Carers
As I started to write this our P6 and P7 learners were just returning from the opportunity to see Legally Blonde at Trinity Academy. It was great to see both former pupils, and others who TPS can take no credit for, perform with such confidence and talent! Over the course of the school year we aim for all Trinity Primary learners to have the chance to take part in a performance. P3 are already formulating plans, watch out for a date in November, P1 will take the Christmas ‘slot’ and other years will follow later.
Fairtrade
One of our Rainbow School commitments involves learning about Fairtrade. Our Fairtrade Tuck shop will reopen on Wed Oct 12th but will move to the end of the day. As our current Rainbow School stage, P6 will take responsibility for this helped by Mrs Grant, one of our PSAs. Fairtrade goods will be available to buy from 3.00pm in the front playground.
Fruity Friday
Many thanks to those families who have kindly offered to sponsor a Fruity Friday fruit bowl. If you are able to do this please hand £10 into the school office. It is great to see so many of our learners eat fruit on a Friday but I have set them a further challenge. Moving forward the winning class will be the one with the largest number eating only fruit (or vegetables). We are increasingly concerned about both the quantity of snacks along with the amount of sugary and fatty items that our learners are eating. Please do support us with this.
Halloween
We hope that Halloween for our learners is fun. Whilst dressing up is welcome on the morning of Friday October 28th we do ask that consideration is given to the costume. Scary masks, lots of fake blood etc are discouraged, particularly among our younger classes, and we aks that such items are kept for out of school. The TPSA will be asking for support for the sponsored disco that will take place that morning. More details will follow from the TPSA.
Parents’ Evening / Afternoon
These will take place from 5.00pm – 8.00pm on Thursday 10th Nov and from 1.00pm – 3.30pm on Friday 11th Nov. Please look out for an email on Monday providing the link to book an appointment. For many this will be the first time for a long time, or first time ever, that you have been able to meet your child’s teacher for a face to face chat. Learners are encouraged to come along with their parents and carers so that they can be part of what is being said.
P1 Aug 2023
I cannot believe that we are already thinking about this. We are however delighted that we will be able to offer an Open Day for parents and carers of P1s due to start at Trinity in August 2023. This will take place on Wed Nov 2nd 2023. Without our own early years nursery please do spread the word to any neighbours, friends or families.
October holiday
School will close on Friday Oct 14th at 12.00noon (the usual time). Learners return on Wed Oct 26th.
Thank you for taking the time to read this update. As we approach the end of our first term I hope that it has gone well. We are always looking at how best we communicate and welcome feedback. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey below.
Many thanks
