Trinity News: 24th October 2022

Dear Parents and Carers

As we come to the end of our first term I hope that both you and your children have found it to be a successful one.   Many thanks to those of you who have already taken a moment to complete our survey.   The link is below if you would like to participate.  Feedback is always helpful.

Learning Powers

This week saw a relaunch of Learning Powers.  Please ask your children if they can name and explain any, or all, of the eight characters.   The Learning Powers are designed to help our learners understand what they can do to help them to learn.   If you have a moment please take a look at the Learning Powers ppt on our website.

Halloween

Well done to our P5 learners who ran a very successful Halloween costume trade event.   It was so lovely to see the looks on the faces of some of our children as they left the hall with their ‘swap.’

On Friday October 28th we will hold our Halloween sponsored disco and Star Time.  Parents and carers are very welcome to come along for Star Time to lend a hand.  Please come to the school office for 11.00am.   It is helpful if you check with your child what they have opted to do at Star Time so we can direct you to the correct space!

Christmas Card fundraising

Christmas card designs and order information should have made it home in school bags this week!   If you wish to order any items please follow the information on the card.   All orders are done online, with items then delivered to school for distribution.   Please do not feel under any obligation to buy items.

School photographs

There have been a few comments made to school about the class photographs this year – layout, cost, overall quality.    In response to these comments I am looking into possible alternative approaches for the future.  If you have any ideas or further comments regarding this please do get in touch.  At the moment we have individual / family photos booked in for May of next year.

Empowered Learning

Our P5, P6 and P7 Learners now have access to 1:1 ipads.  Having shared the learning experience in the classes over the past weeks it has been very encouraging to see how these devices are enhancing and supporting learning in our school.  Please do be assured that their use if planned for as part of the learning process.  The ipads are set up with access only to approved apps.   If you have any concerns or comments please do get in touch directly with us.
