Dear Parents and Carers
I hope that the week ahead proves to be a successful one for everyone in our Trinity community. School returns on Mon Feb 20th with a lot in the diary to look forward to.
Our first Trinity Together assembly will be looking at Fairtrade with a speaker from Koolskools, an ethical clothing company, joining us to talk with our learners. P7 will be bridge building with Edinburgh College as part of their STEAM work and P3 will be visiting the Gurdhwara. Fri 24th Feb sees our cinema night reinstated. Tickets will be available from Mon 20th.
World Book Day : Thurs 2nd March
This year our theme will be Bedtime Stories with everyone invited to wear pyjamas to school and bring with them a favourite bedtime book and their ‘teddy’ if they would like to. We are planning a book treasure hunt in the playground along with a Masked Reader challenge.
Works to the lane beside school
I have been informed that works will be taking place in the lane between our school and Trinity Academy that will result in the lane being closed for a number of days next week. Access through the park will still be possible.
Parents / Carers’ evening and afternoon – 9th and 10th March
We are currently experiencing a technical hitch with our system. Appointments will be available to be booked during the week of Mon 20th Feb.
Red Nose Day – Fri 17th March
As we did last year the organising and running of our Red Nose Day fundraising event will be handed over entirely to our learners. They did an incredible job in 2022 showing their skills of collaboration, organisation, entrepreneurship and tidying up! The children have already been asked to have a think about what they can do to make a difference through Red Nose Day 2023.
I am always so proud when I hear about what our learners are achieving both in school and out so please do share with us. This week one of our P6s took on the responsibility of applying for a grant from the Book Trust for us to welcome a comic book author to Trinity. Whether the application is successful or not, our P6 learner certainly was.
Best wishes
Jacqueline Scott
