We Need You!

Message sent on behalf of Dr. Sandeep Ramalingam MD, PhD, FRCPath

Consultant Virologist, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh

If you have a child under 7 years of age, you may be able to help us in the fight.

The Children’s Hospital in Edinburgh are doing a study of salt water nose drops to see if it helps get rid of the cold faster.

Your child does not need to have a cold right now to take part!

You can join right now by calling/texting 07973657457 for an appointment to sign up and to be taught what to do the next time your child has a cold.

Your child does not need to attend.

Families completing the study will receive travel expenses and a £30 voucher to compensate for any inconvenience.

Further information is in the attached flyer or at @elviskids; Facebook: ElvisKids.

As you know, our funding is awarded annually, and there is no guarantee of it continuing. Please publicise our YMI work @CreateLearnEdin so we can like and retweet. It is helpful to generate a buzz around all this activity in your school with YMI music, crediting the Youth Music Initiative funded by the Scottish Government through Creative Scotland and demonstrate clearly the value of this work.

Parents and Carers are very welcome to join us in the front playground from 9.15am – 10.15am on Friday September 13th as we share our learning from MADD about Musicals.

The children have all decorated T shirts to represent their musical and will wear these on Friday.  Following the event the children will take their T shirt home.   Pupils are asked to pay £2 to cover the cost of the T shirt (payment through Parentpay or cash to the school office)

Many of you will be aware that Tony awards are presented annually for achievement in theatre.  Staff nominations are now coming in for our very own Tony Awards otherwise known as TRONY awards.  Categories include choreography, set design and dramatic dance amongst others.  The awards will be presented at our assembly on the 13th!
