Dear Trinity Learners,

Just a very quick email to make sure you’re getting yourselves organised for learning from home.  Remember, you need to get a good sleep so you can get up, get dressed, eat your breakfast, brush your teeth and be ready for ‘school’ at 9.00am.  (No more sitting around in your jammies!)  Although we won’t actually be in school, your teachers are still busy planning different learning for you although having seen the amazing creativity that has been going on over the holidays perhaps some of you should be doing the planning?   Have a look at the website this week for our next creativity walls.    The next two weeks will see us focussing on the value of perseverance so remember to take photos showing you persevering and share them with me.

WEBSITE ALERT : look out for a welcome message from the staff on Tues April 21st.

You might have to persevere to see if you can name everyone!

Take care and we’ll see you soon.

Mrs Scott

P5 – Happy Easter

Happy Easter

Miss Griffiths, Mr McGowan and Miss Campbell are so proud of you all P5 after completing your first two weeks of learning from home. We love seeing your pictures and videos of what you have been up to. Everyone is definitely improving their ICT skills and we will be all tech wizards when we return to school.

We hope you enjoyed the ‘Virtual Easter Service’ today. All the teachers had a good laugh making the video so I hope you also had a laugh watching it. Thank you to Miss Chalmers for putting it all together and to any children and families who sent in videos.

Before we say goodbye for two weeks we would like to announce the ‘Work of the Week’. It was very difficult to choose one person from each class as everyone has been working so hard and learning in so many different ways.

Work of the Week Certificates:       P5 Work of the Week

Good morning Trinity Learners

It’s the final day of ‘school’ for this term and we all go on our Easter ‘holidays’ at 12.25pm today.  I have been so impressed with how well you have been managing your learning from home.  Some of you have possibly managed to complete a lot more than you do in school.  Just wait till we get back!

Over the next couple of weeks remember to continue with our value of kindness.  This is so important as we move into week three of staying safe and staying indoors.  Some of you might be getting a bit fed up with this but having rows with your family will just upset everyone.  Keep remembering we’re all in this together and the people who are caring for you might also be feeling a wee bit fed up.  Help them by being kind or by saying something kind.  A cuddle is always welcome.  Ms Pattinson will be updating our kindness wall from this week so check out the website.

Our next focus is CREATIVITY so the break from schoolwork might give you a chance to get creative about how to enjoy holidays in the house.  You might be able to decorate boiled eggs or make an Easter bonnet or build an indoor den or make Spring pictures.   I think I might set up an Easter egg  hunt in our house (and then we can eat what we find).  Remember to send in an email and photos and we’ll start a Creativity wall.

I really did miss our Easter service that should have happened yesterday.  However, if you were thinking you weren’t going to be able to enjoy singing Spring Chicken then check out our version on the website.  Thank you to those of you who managed to send in a contribution, thank you to the teachers for their contribution – including some props) and a HUGE thank you to Ms Chalmers for putting it all together.   As you read this please give Ms Chalmers a Trinity Drum roll!     There is also a virtual Easter assembly powerpoint to have a look at.

Enjoy your ‘holidays’ and we will see you back at ‘school’ on Tuesday 21st April ready for the term ahead.  I’m already thinking about how we can collect house points on the website so you might be able to earn some from home.  One point is fab, two points is when you go ‘above and beyond’.

Missing you all but holding onto the fact that it won’t be too long until I’m back at our front door saying good morning to you all (even if some people forget to say good morning back!)

Keep safe everyone and have a Happy Easter.

Mrs Scott

Primary 5’s Daily Literacy Challenge (Everyone In P5 Can have a go!)

Epic! 4+ Unlimited Books for Kids Epic! Creations Inc | Book app ...

Hi Primary 5, I posted this task this morning but have discovered that you can only see the book on an app for a tablet not on the EPIC website. Sorry about this – if you can complete it then great but if not after Easter holidays I will select books that you can read from both. Happy Days!!!

Mrs. Jackson’s Daily Primary 5 Literacy Challenge

Hi Primary 5, how’s the home schooling going? Can’t believe that it’s been almost 2 weeks. I thought that I’d give you some time to get used to your teacher tasks before I interfered!

I am just giving you notice that I will be posting a daily task on the Trinity Primary Website for you to have a go at.

Each day I will suggest a book from Epic to read or listen to; give you some spellings to learn and set a quick writing challenge.

How does that sound?

If you have time today please begin tomorrow’s task and get in touch with me:

  1. Go into Epic and find ‘Town Is by the Sea’ by Joanne Schwartz.
  1. Read this story (I love the illustrations).
  • Can you create a silly story with some of these ou/ow words? Underline the ou/ow.
  • The boy in this story tells us about his day as the son of a miner. Life is so different for all of us at the moment- tell me about your day – do you have a routine; when do you do your school work; how are you keeping fit; how much TV and screen are you allowed?

Email your finished work to:

As you all know, we enjoy a sing-song at Trinity. Although we cannot be together in person for our Easter Service on Friday, we are hoping to share in some Easter fun which will take the shape of an iMovie featuring your teachers and some of you too.

How you can feature in our virtual Easter Service:

  • Record yourself singing/ dancing along to part of Spring Chicken
  • Send it to Miss Chalmers through email or WeTransfer using the email address:
  • Check that your parent/carer gives permission for it to be part of an iMovie that will be posted on the school website.
