Trinity News : November 2018

 Dear Parents and Carers,

Please see the following news from Trinity.  We are now going for a very simple format to allow it to be read easily on various devices.  I hope that this proves to be successful.  A copy is also available on the school website.

 Parents’ Evening and Afternoon : Thurs Nov 8th and Fri Nov 9th

It is much appreciated if everyone keeps to time.   Appointments are 10 minutes for each child.  Mrs Martin, Mrs Berthinussen and myself will all be available if you wish to speak with us.

 Building Update

It is likely that you will have noticed the site cabins in the car park.  Work is expected to start on Mon 19th November and will involve

* some toilet areas being refurbished

* all lighting and electrics replaced

* top floor cloakrooms decorated

 *corridor windows replaced

* gym hall ceiling and flooring replaced

* gym hall decorated

 * external fascia boards replaced

* reroofing of low roof areas

This is all phase one and is due for completion in June 2019.

Please be aware that whilst some work will take place during the school day, we will endeavor to ensure that any disruption to learning is kept to an absolute minimum.  Unfortunately, whilst we are delighted to have this money spent on our building,  some of the improvements will not really be visible!

 Playground update

I am hoping to be able to share the response from the Health and Safety Executive and City of Edinburgh Health & Safety team in the near future.

 Equity for All

We aim to offer a range of learning experiences for children at Trinity.  Whilst we do take cost into consideration, some experiences can be expensive.  We guarantee that no Trinity pupil will miss out on what we offer, for financial reasons.

Our whole school visit to Matilda is booked for April 2019 and parents / carers are asked to pay the full cost of the experience, the full cost plus a bit extra to support others or pay what they can manage.   Payment should be made through Parentpay.

 Clearing out?

We are always looking for toys and books for the playground.  If you are having a clear out before Christmas please send in what you no longer use and we will happily recycle items.  Halloween costumes and other dressing up items would also be much appreciated

Dear Parents, Pupils and Carers

Trinity Academy is celebrating its 125th anniversary with a Torchlight Procession on Friday 9th November.  This is a great community event and it would be fabulous if lots of Trinity Primary families were able to go along.   The recent outdoor cinema evening was a great success.   Tickets are on sale via the link below.

Torch collection, soup, mulled wine and hot drinks are available from 6.00pm.

I am sure it will be a great community night and look forward to seeing you there.

Best wishes

Dear Parents and Carers

As many of you will be aware we have been expecting considerable building works to upgrade the electrics, toilets, flooring, roof etc in our school. We had hoped the works would commence during the summer holidays but the start date was postponed. Following a meeting last week preparation for the works will now commence this week with the installation of work cabins in the car park and the preparation of a detailed scheduled programme of works.
Please be assured that, together with the contractors, we will ensure limited disruption to learning and teaching.  Further details will follow once the programme has been confirmed.
I am sure that the improvements to our building (whilst possibly not immediately obvious) will have a positive impact for everyone.
Thank you for your support
Jacqueline Scott
