Dear Parents and Carers
As we reach half term please find below an update on school news :
Back gate – from Mon Feb 25th, for a trial period, we will stop using the gate into the lane and access to the back playground will be from the large gate in Victoria Park. It is hoped that this will ease congestion in the lane and provide a safe exit and entrance to the playground.
Playground update – many thanks to P7 and a Star Time volunteer group who have done a great job of tidying up our playground. Please can I remind all parents, carers and pupils that, for safety reasons, all bikes and scooters MUST be pushed in the playground. A group of P6 pupils are currently researching the use of toys in the playground and will be reporting to the school after the Feb break. We are awaiting the result of an application for funding for an outdoor library. Fingers crossed we will be successful.
Coffee Morning and Learning Chats – this morning saw our final house coffee morning of the school year. The turnout has been fantastic and the feedback extremely positive. Many thanks.
Pupil voice – one of our P6 pupils has been carrying out research into having fruit available to P6 pupils to eat at any time in the school day. The trial has proven very successful and we will be looking to roll this out across other classes. Fruity Friday returns on Feb 22nd so please do send your child with fruit / vegetables for snack each Friday and leave crisps, biscuits etc at home – our aim is 100%. Following our pupils’ hopes for 2019 being the reduction in the use of plastic we are now using porcelain mugs and reusable cups for events. Every little bit helps.
Session 2019 / 2020 – we are in the process of looking at class organisation from Aug 2019. If your child will not be returning to Trinity after summer do please let Mrs Boath know – firstname.lastname@example.org.
Safety – it has been brought to my attention by the police and by Trinity Academy, that several of our parents / carers are parking dangerously outside school on Newhaven Road or are using Trinity Academy staff car park as a drop off or pick up point. I know that time is often tight but if you are guilty of this please consider the safety of everyone and park further from school.
Headlice – as we start our mid term break, please can everyone check their child for headlice. Several parents have commented that despite regularly clearing their child’s hair they are being reinfected. We need EVERYONE to check to ensure that we are nit free at Trinity.
We look forward to seeing pupils back at school at 8.50am on Monday February 18th
Thank you for your support
