We Need You!

Message sent on behalf of Dr. Sandeep Ramalingam MD, PhD, FRCPath

Consultant Virologist, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh

If you have a child under 7 years of age, you may be able to help us in the fight.

The Children’s Hospital in Edinburgh are doing a study of salt water nose drops to see if it helps get rid of the cold faster.

Your child does not need to have a cold right now to take part!

You can join right now by calling/texting 07973657457 for an appointment to sign up and to be taught what to do the next time your child has a cold.

Your child does not need to attend.

Families completing the study will receive travel expenses and a £30 voucher to compensate for any inconvenience.

Further information is in the attached flyer or at @elviskids; Facebook: ElvisKids.

Mary’s Meals

Mary’s Meals provides life-changing meals to some of the world’s poorest children every day they attend school.

How can you help us to support Mary’s Meals ?

Just £13.90 provides breakfast for a child for a year – yes a year!

Next week we will be holding House Breakfasts from 8.30am – 9.00am.

It will be a very simple breakfast of a roll and milk or water (to help us to appreciate how lucky we are to often have lots of choice)

Mon 7th : Royston

Tues 8th : Melville

Wed 9th : Argyll

Thurs 10th : Craighall

If your child would like to be part of our House Breakfasts please give them £2 cash to bring to school that morning so they can buy breakfast.  Parents and carers are very welcome to join us.

Each day we will count to see how many people have taken part and how much money we have raised.

At assembly on Fri 11th October we’ll share our school total and work out how many children we can support.

Help Royston raise the most – May, Jack and Zak

Let’s see if Melville can be the best – Soley, Finn, Kian

Can Argyll have the biggest breakfast? – Stella, Erwan, Euan

Let’s make Craighall  the busiest – Tola, Fergal, Natty

Thank you,

From all the House Captains

Trinity News August 2019

Dear Pupils, Parents and Carers

A very warm welcome back after the summer holidays.  For those of you new to Trinity I hope your child settles quickly and thoroughly enjoys learning whilst having fun at our school.   Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns.

Having pride in being a Trinity learner is an important part of our school and it is great to see so many of the children in their school uniforms.  We do ask that everyone only wears school colours – black, yellow, grey, white and in the case of our new P7s, their purple P7 sweatshirts.  Your support with this is much appreciated.

Building update

I am delighted with the work that has taken place over the summer.  A huge thanks to all those involved, particularly to everyone who worked so hard to transform the school from a building site on Monday to a school ready to open on Wed.   We now have new corridor windows, replaced rooflights, improved lighting and water storage as well as having areas of the school decorated, new flooring laid and new furniture purchased.  Acoustic panels have also been installed in the pavilion and we are confident that these will reduce noise levels.  Most importantly all toilet areas have been completely refurbished.

Some work is still ongoing but it is hoped that the shelter area and office spaces will be completed in the near future.  Phase two of the works will involve the building of a new boiler room and replacement of the hall windows.

At Trinity the year always start with a MADD project.  This year we will be MADD (music, art, drama, dance) about Musicals.  We are in the process of planning our MADD event for Friday Sept 13th to celebrate the learning.  Please do get in touch if you can help in any way.

Year ahead

As always the year ahead promises to be a busy and, I hope, a successful, happy and healthy one for everyone at Trinity.

Please see below for some key dates for your calendar.  As I am sure you will appreciate these may be subject to some change and we will try to ensure that updates are issued regularly.

Thank you for your support

Jacqueline Scott
