P3 Homelearning Term 3

Dear P1, P2 and P3 Parents and Carers
As we move towards schools opening up again to parents and carers we are now able to offer face to face meetings to discuss your child’s progress. These will take place one evening or on a Friday afternoon, in school, in the summer term – dates still to be finalised. Some parents and carers have however expressed a preference for such meetings to continue to be online. This may be because of child care or ease of access or to be more time efficient. To this end we are considering offering a choice. To help with this please complete the survey (link below) by Friday April 8th, expressing your preference. We will then make a final decision and share arrangements.
Many thanks
Jacqueline Scott
Dear P3F Parents and Carers
As I am sure you are aware P3 are busy rehearsing their P3 show Pirates V Mermaids. In normal circumstances you would be invited indoors, and in the warm, to watch the performance. However as we are still working under COVID restrictions indoors is not possible so we have moved outdoors. The show must go on! You are very welcome to come along to the front playground on Tues Dec 14th at 9.15am. Please do dress warmly as it is December! The show will be standing only.
In line with COVID guidance everyone attending is asked to wear a face covering, unless exempt, and to stand 2m distanced from other households. Please complete the form below to allow us to have an indication of numbers.
To keep costume simple all the children have been supplied with a large T shirt which they will be welcome to keep as a souvenir. If you are in a position to pay £2 to cover the cost this would be much appreciated. Money can be sent in as cash or paid on parentpay.
I look forward to seeing those of you able to come along.
Best wishes
Jacqueline Scott

Recently, we published evidence that cells use the chloride from salt to fight viral infections. Also, nasal irrigation with salt water helped reduce the cold in adults. Hence, we are now testing if salt water nose drops helps children fight the cold.
If you have a child under 7 years of age, you may be able to join the fight.
The Children’s Hospital in Edinburgh are doing a study of salt water nose drops to see if it helps get rid of the cold faster.
Your child does not need to have a cold right now to take part!
You can join right now by calling/texting 07973657457 for an appointment to sign up and to be taught what to do the next time your child has a cold.
Your child does not need to attend.
Families completing the study will receive travel expenses and a £30 voucher to compensate for any inconvenience.
