Dear Parents and Carers

Happy New Year and welcome back to term three.    I hope you were able to enjoy the festive season and managed to spend time with family and friends.  It is lovely to see our learners back in school today and ready for the term ahead.

House Coffee Mornings and Learning Chats

Many of you will be familiar with our annual House Coffee Mornings and Learning Chats.  These provide an opportunity for parents and carers to sit with their child / children and talk with them about what they have been learning, how well they are doing and what they can do to improve whilst at the same time enjoying a coffee or tea and a biscuit wrapped in the correct house colour.  Our Argyll House Captains are on the search for a green wrapped biscuit that isn’t mint, as mint does not seem to be a favourite!

This year we have decided to try holding the coffee mornings on two Fridays only – please note this is a change to previous dates.

Friday 24^th January   

9.00am – 9.50am : Craighall

11.00am – 11.50am : Argyll (not Fri 17^th Jan)

Friday 31st January

9.00am – 9.50m : Melville

11.00am – 11.50am : Royston (not Fri 7^th Feb)

Communication

As you are aware many schools, including ourselves, currently use X (formerly Twitter) as a form of communication to share what our learners are learning.    Concern has been raised about the use of this platform and we are hoping to move onto using an alternative in the not too distant future.  The digital learning team within CEC are supporting this.

We are still unsure as to the date of the P7(P6) show as we still do not have a venue large enough to accommodate the cast and the audience.  Please be assured ‘the show will go on’ in some form or another.
