Dear Parents and Carers
As we reach the end of another term I would like to say a heartfelt thanks to parents, carers, staff and our fabulous Trinity learners for the creativity, perseverance, respect and kindness that we see in our school community on a daily basis. Whilst things are not always perfect and we continue to face challenges, the general ethos of our school embraces our values and I hope our learners are thriving in an inclusive and welcoming environment. To those families leaving Trinity we wish you all the best for the future.
Christmas at Trinity
December has been full of fun activities enjoyed by all. Thank you again to the TPSA who paid for events meaning a cost free Trinity Christmas. The only activity with any cost to families was the P7 visit to Winter Wonderland where their £6.50 wristband gave them unlimited access to all the fair rides at the west end. With an average cost of £6 per ride this was great value. Our P7s were an absolute credit to our school and families and I so enjoyed watching the smiles on their faces and hearing the laughter as they enjoyed the fun with all their friends.
The silent disco was another big hit as was Star Time, Christmas lunch and the Santa Fun Run. Today seeing a plethora of pyjamas, onesies, and squishmallow pillows means we have just one more sleep to the holidays. We end the term with a Trinity Together singalong for all learners tomorrow morning.
Christmas fundraising
Thank you to everyone who purchased items. School received the fabulous total of £1326 for school funds.
Reverse advent calendar
We have received many donations of underwear and chocolates for Project Pants. Thank you for your generosity. Ms McLeister will deliver all of the items to the charity in time for Christmas.
P7 enterprise project
Yesterday saw the dining hall abuzz with excitement as our P7 ‘businesses’ sold their handmade goods. Each business applied for a loan, presented a business plan, made their product and sold it. All of the businesses were in the financial position of being able to repay their loans and all have made a profit. Definitely some very astute entrepreneurs amongst our learners!
Music opportunities
The following music opportunities have been brought to my attention
Young Musician’s pass – free tickets to Edinburgh International Festival Concerts. Sign up at eif.co.uk/ympass
Brass Blast – provides exciting, accessible experiences of learning an instrument and playing in a band. Search OiMusica
I often reflect on how lucky I am to have the privilege of being HeadTeacher at Trinity and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy festive season with family and friends. Here’s to a 2026 filled with fun, laughter and love.
Merry Christmas
