Trinity News: 24th March 2026

Dear Parents and Carers

What a fabulous Red Nose Day we had on Friday.   Our empty playground at 8.45am was filled with stalls and activities, entirely run by Trinity Learners, within 20 minutes.  By 10.30am we had raised £2124.   An incredible amount.  Along with P3 selling 420 red noses the total contribution from Trinity was a whopping £2964 – a record year for us!    Thank you so much to everyone for all their support in making this happen.

Park Run

Our first school venture into Park Run at Pilrig Park saw 48 Trinity Learners take part.   With a target of 100 runs by the end of June we are well on our way to not only reaching that but to exceeding it.   Hopefully this Sunday March 29th at 9.30am will see Trinity Learners taking part again.

August 2026

We are starting the process of planning staffing and class organisation for August 2026.  Please do let us know, as a priority, if your child will not be returning to Trinity Primary after the summer holidays.   This year will see all our classes being rearranged to form new classes.  Experience shows us that providing opportunities for our learners to extend friendships and to learn with and from different groups is beneficial as they move through primary school.  Please be assured that staff take considerable time to get this right for all our learners taking into consideration a range of criteria – established positive friendships, learning styles, additional support needs, gender balance etc.   It’s no easy task but one that is worth spending time on.

If you wish to discuss this further please do get in touch with myself using the admin email box – admin@trinity-pri.edin.sch.uk

We are still awaiting updated numbers for P1 which will inform us of the number of classes to expect.

Pupil Equity Funding

Pupil Equity Funding is provided to all schools to help support closing the poverty related attainment gap.  Schools are able to use the money to target interventions that may otherwise not be able to happen. At Trinity our PEF is used in the following ways :

Family Support Worker – Sandra Brown (Citadel) works at Trinity on a Wednesday and meets with parents and carers to support parenting, financial assistance etc

Pupil Support Officer – Kelly Tawake works full time and supports several of our learners enabling them to attend and achieve in school

Nurture teacher – Laura Nisbet provides two days of additional support for learning with a particular focus on improving attainment for those affected by poverty.

Opportunity funding – financial support to allow learners to participate in a range of learning opportunities eg skiing, Benmore, Forest schools.

As we consider how to best use funding in the year ahead please take a minute to complete the following

The form will be live until Friday April 24th 2026

Packed Lunches

We are currently experiencing significant waste of packed lunches particularly if a class is going out of school.   Last week 17 packed lunches were ordered for P5 learners with 15 not needed as parents / carers had provided their child with their packed lunch.  Please only order a packed lunch if required.  Thank you.

Swimming gala and Euroquiz

Good luck to our P7 group  taking part in the swimming gala and to our P6 group taking part in Euroquiz on Thursday.  A busy day!
