Dear Parents and Carers
I hope that things are going well for you all. The school term seems to be flying by with the September holiday weekend already upon us. I had the privilege of spending last week at Benmore Outdoor Centre with our P7s. Their enthusiasm and confidence were fabulous to see and I was so proud of the respect they showed to each other and to their group leaders. Having attended a school residential week over 30 times in my career I can honestly say my final one was extremely memorable for all the right reasons! Many thanks to the staff who gave of their time to accompany the P7s and to those who provided an alternative in – school experience for those who chose not to attend.
MADD about Europe : Friday Sept 11th 9.10am – 10.00am approx
We will be sharing learning from our MADD about Europe focus on Friday morning. Classes have been learning snippets of dance, music and songs to take us on a tour of some European countries. Parents and carers are very welcome to join us in the front playground from 9.10am. Please note that this is dependent on the weather. If we have to move inside then unfortunately parents and carers will not be able to attend. Learners are encouraged to dress as a tourist or to wear the colours of a European country flag. P6 have made a cake for every class which when all are brought together will make a map of Europe – hopefully!
Doors Open Day
Please see the attached flyer for information about Doors Open Days on Sat 26th and Sun 27th September. This year the first 10,000 primary school children to attend a venue will receive a box of coloured pencils and a map of buildings in Edinburgh, Primary school children are invited to colour in their maps and submit it as part of a competition, with prizes for the winning entries.
Sharing Learning : SWAYS
As discussed at our ‘Meet the Teacher’ event, we are trialling a new approach to sharing learning via a Sway. These will start after Friday 18th September. Please note the link is protected and can only be accessed via the email sent from school. Please do not delete the email but keep it safe for ongoing access. Year groups will update information and photos on a weekly basis.
Pantomime
Thank you for confirming if you wish your child to attend Pinocchio. Tickets have now been paid for from school funds so please do make payment on Parentpay as soon as possible. Travel will be by coach with an expected return time to school of approx 5.30pm. Further info will follow nearer the time.

Trinity Together at Christmas
Unfortunately this year we are unable to use Bangholm for our Christmas Trinity Together. This means that, at the moment, parents and carers will not be able to join us on Wed 9th December. We are looking at how else we might manage this.
