Dear Parents and Carers
What a busy week it’s been at Trinity
- watching the final of the Trinity Spelling Bee – well done to Lucas O’Reilly, 5K, on taking first place
- welcoming new P1 learners and their parents and carers
- meeting new classes and teachers
- enjoying a fabulous day at the beach
- spending three days at new secondary schools
- eating pizza and Chinese and soaking each other at the P7 leaver’s party
- listening to election speeches and voting for our new House Captains
A huge well done to everyone involved in these events. Our house captains for 2026 / 2027 will be announced at Trinity Together on Wednesday along with both the Trinity Artist and Writer of the year, our athletics winners, community award, friendship award and the winning house for 2026. It will also be our chance to say goodbye to all our P7 learners and present them with their yearbooks. It promises to be a very busy and exciting morning so please do join us at Bangholm for 9.15am.
House Captains
The standard of speeches for this year’s house elections was very impressive and whilst only eight will be elected, I hope that all our P6 Trinity learners who took part feel proud of themselves. I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to our current house captains (Roberta, Sula, Magnus, Frances, Joel, Eva, Iris and Esme) who have been exemplary in their role and will be a great miss to us all. We are looking forward to their final House Captain moment when they lead our Trinity’s Got Talent final on Thursday afternoon.
Lost Property
As well as our usual array of lost property we also have a significant number of items left over from the beach trip. Please do take a moment to check if anything belongs to your child as all items will be removed before the end of term. Lost property can be found under the shelter at the front of the school.
Playground update
I do apologise for the delay in reopening part of the front playground. We receive quarterly playground reports and it was noted that some areas required significant work. The cost of these repairs was considerable and we are indebted to the TPSA for help towards this. With several school playgrounds requiring work and contractors already busy over the holiday period we made the decision to have the work completed during the summer term whilst the weather was ‘better’ and our learners had access to the grass area at the back. We are hopeful the work will be signed off next week and the full playground will be back in use. Thank you for your patience.
Sponsored Walk
Our updated and final total raised for the Edinburgh’s Children’s Hospital charity was £1130. A fantastic effort. Thank you for your support.
